Type I insoluble collagen

Type I insoluble collagen has natural cross-linking (actual product picture above) and is the material of choice for medical devices requiring strength, controlled resorption, and functioning as a tissue scaffold or haemostat.
Type I insoluble collagen has been used for many years in a wide variety of applications. It causes very little immune reaction and is safe for most patients.

Preserved pericardium

Bovine pericardium is the tissue of choice for many surgical applications. Southern Lights pericardium is processed to meet end-user requirements. The most demanding application is that of use in biological heart valves. In this application the product must; have high strength and wear resistance, avoid cytotoxic and calcification reactions in use. Emerging demand for heart valves which can be placed using trans-catheter or similar procedures requires pericardium with tightly controlled thickness. Each valve design has unique requirements.
